Community control cases filled the docket in Crawford County Common Pleas Court Wednesday afternoon.

Thirty-one-year-old Ashley Alspach was placed on community control for three years after admitting to numerous violations while on her intervention. Alspach waived her right to counsel and admitted to taking food from the Bucyrus Kroger on July 1, 2013, failing to appear for a pretrial hearing, failing to report to her scheduled office visits since Aug. 21, 2013, residing with a convicted felon since Aug. 26, 2013, and failing to comply with her substance abuse treatment in community counseling since Aug. 27, 2013.

Judge Russell Wiseman accepted Alspach’s guilty plea and placed her on community control for her felony five drug possession. Her intervention was revoked and she was ordered to enter into a treatment facility. Alspach must pay a $2,500 mandatory drug fine and had her license suspended for six months.

Thirty-three-year-old James Britt of Galion will be serving the balance on his prison sentence after admitting to his community control violations.

Twenty-two-year-old Ernest Alexander Thompson will be unsuccessfully terminated from his community control after he serves 38 days in the county jail. Thompson had been on probation since 2011 after entering a guilty plea to receiving stolen property.

Thirty-seven-year-old Nicole Britt will enter into an inpatient drug treatment program as part of her agreement to admitting to her community control violations. Britt was continued on her probation.

Thirty-three-year-old Amanda Thomas had been on the cusp of having her intervention revoked but, as part of an agreement, she will be entering into an in-house patient treatment program for six months at Edna House in Cleveland. She will be released from jail Thursday to be transported directly to Cleveland.

On Jan. 7 Thomas had tested positive for cocaine, opiates and Oxycodone. She has also failed to complete her court-ordered substance abuse program since July.

Twenty-eight-year-old Bryan Nickelson of Galion entered a guilty plea to possessing drugs, which will be held until he successfully completes his two-year intervention program. Nickelson had been in possession of heroin on May 24, 2013.

Twenty-two-year-old Marissa Donohue is facing numerous community control violations. Donohue had been arrested on Feb. 21 for obstruction of justice and since Dec. 10, 2013 she has failed to report to her supervising officer, failed to notify her supervising officer of her change of address, and failed to comply with her substance abuse counseling.

Wiseman appointed attorney Russell Long to Donohue and set her bond at $50,000.

Donohue had served time on two felony five trafficking in drugs counts and one felony one aggravated robbery count before being granted judicial release on Sept. 10, 2013.

Twenty-four-year-old Joshua Smith is also facing probation violations. Smith admitted to possessing and using THC and using Suboxone on Sept. 24, 2013. He was also found in possession of drug paraphernalia in Marion County on Nov. 13, 2013, failed to inform of his supervising officer of his change of address on Oct. 22, 2013, and failed to report to his supervising officer as instructed since Nov. 6, 2013.

Wiseman appointed Adam Stone, who is also serving as Smith’s counsel in Wyandot County, to Smith and set his bond at $50,000.

Thirty-one-year-old Angela Kilgore is facing community control violations that include testing positive for opiates and Oxycotin on Jan. 29, 2014. Wiseman appointed attorney Shane Leuthold to Kilgore and released her on a personal recognizance bond. Kilgore is currently being held on bond in Richland County.

Two men were granted judicial release Wednesday.

Thirty-one-year-old Derrick Skidmore was granted judicial release as part of his plea agreement. He was placed on community control. Skidmore had served eight years on a 10-year prison sentence for a 2006 felony one involuntary manslaughter charge.

Timmy Brown Jr. was granted judicial release as part of his plea agreement. He was placed on community control and ordered to complete a drug and alcohol assessment as well as any follow up treatment. Brown had pleaded guilty in 2013 to a felony two trafficking in drugs charge.
