NORTH ROBINSON, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—At Monday’s board of education meeting, Treasurer David Sheldon and his staff were honored with the Auditor of State Award.
Scott Brown, from Auditor of State Keith Faber’s office, said the office oversees nearly 6,000 clients statewide and runs around 4,200 audits. Of those, the Colonel Crawford Local School District — thanks to Sheldon and his team, comprising Candace Cochran, Tonya Geiger, and Mandy Trubee — is in the top 10% of audits in the state.
“Our central office team, first and foremost, are tremendous people — just quality individuals who do a tremendous job. So that’s first and foremost of the reasons why they are awarded, because they are amazing people,” Superintendent Mike Voll said. “Secondly, they work very well as a team. They have a team‑oriented concept in our office, and they do a tremendous job helping one another. If someone’s unable to do a certain task or duty, another person will pick up that slack and help out in any way, shape, or form. Their attention to detail is phenomenal. They do everything correctly, they do it on time, tasks are done properly, and they do things with a lot of quality when they do something.”
This is the central office staff’s third year in a row receiving the Auditor of State Award.
The board approved new lunch and breakfast prices for the 2026–27 school year: K–5 lunches are $3.75, and breakfast is $1.75; 6–12 lunches are $4, and breakfast is $1.75; and adult lunches are $4.80, and breakfast is $2.75.
School fees for K–8 were approved at $50 per student.
The board approved the hiring of Jordan Kiess as a high school teacher, Maria Smith as a second‑grade teacher, Karson Kimmel as a fourth‑grade teacher, and Jason Chomic as a high school teacher.
The next board meeting is June 29 at 7 p.m.
