TIFFIN, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—North Central Ohio Educational Service Center (NCOESC) consultant Kayla Heimann has been selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants from across Ohio to participate in the Ohio Space Grant Consortium’s STEM Ambassador Program, an opportunity focused on expanding STEM access and inspiring the next generation of innovators.

The Ohio Space Grant Consortium is part of NASA’s National Space Grant College and Fellowship Program. Its STEM Ambassador Program empowers educators, students and young professionals to share their passion for science, technology, engineering and mathematics through engaging community outreach.

As an ambassador, Heimann will receive support to design and lead outreach projects that spark curiosity, connect learning to real-world possibilities and introduce students to STEM pathways. She will also collaborate with consortium staff and academic and industry partners to help strengthen connections between education and future careers.

The program offers access to guest lectures from NASA and STEM professionals across Ohio, networking and mentorship opportunities, and workshops that develop leadership and communication skills. These experiences will support Heimann in bringing new ideas, resources and connections to her work with area schools.

Heimann’s selection reflects NCOESC’s commitment to expanding opportunities for the students and districts it serves. Through this role, she will help students explore their interests, imagine new possibilities and see themselves as future STEM leaders.
