NEW WASHINGTON, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—First-place Buckeye Central high school volleyball is gearing up for one of its toughest tests of the season as the Bucks prepare to host state powerhouse Tiffin Calvert.

Speaking on North Central Ohio Media Group’s Coaches Corner Extra, Buckeye Central head coach Paige Caudill highlighted her squad’s mental maturity as a driving force behind their strong start to the campaign.

“We’ve gone from a team that really worried about every mistake to a team that worries about ‘next,’ understanding that putting team forward is how you grow,” Caudill said.

Facing a top-ranked Calvert team, Caudill emphasized that minimizing unforced errors and maintaining calculated aggressiveness will be critical to competing with top-tier opposition.

“Aggressive doesn’t mean pounding the ball every time,” Caudill noted. “Aggressive means finding the point and doing it with assertiveness—taking it one point at a time and not harming ourselves.”

The Buckettes currently sit atop the East Division in the newly restructured Northern 10 Athletic Conference (N10).
