SYCAMORE, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)— After bouncing back from an opening-week defeat with four consecutive victories, the Mohawk High School football team is focusing on physical discipline and leadership ahead of a rigorous conference slate.
Speaking on Coach’s Corner Extra host Josh Stallings, Mohawk head coach Eric Daniel pointed to team leadership and practice intensity as key factors in the Warriors’ 4-1 start following a week-one loss to Margaretta.
“We needed our guys to step up their game, and they did,” Daniel said, highlighting the growth of a young roster that has adjusted to higher demands in practice. “Winning begets more winning. The more you win, the more bought-in your guys are.”
The Warriors face an upcoming league schedule that includes matchups against Winford, Carey, and Colonel Crawford. Daniel emphasized the importance of remaining focused on immediate opponents, starting with an improved Winford squad, while preparing for close, late-game situations in the second half of the season.
Now in his ninth season as head coach at Mohawk, Daniel credited multi-sport participation and weight room development for building long-term program consistency and player leadership.
