NEW WASHINGTON, OHIO (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW) — The Buckeye Central Board of Education met Tuesday night for its monthly meeting. The meeting opened with this year’s Bitty Bucks — students from the Buckeye Central preschool program — who sang a song for the board and created fairy gardens with members.

Joe Wiles has again been approved for the high school’s Purple Star designation. The district will hold the designation from 2026 to 2029 and will reapply in 2029.

On May 26, the track will begin to undergo resurfacing.
In personnel matters, the board approved the retirement resignation of Terry Oswald, high school business teacher, and accepted the resignation of Michael Martin, high school principal.
The board approved Shawn Ramion as the new grades 7–12 principal.
The board also hired a bus driver, Kimberly Dominguez, for the 2026–27 school year.
The next board meeting is scheduled for June 23 at 7 p.m.
