BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The North Central State College (NCSC) Foundation and the Crawford Success Center (CSC) have announced a new partnership with Baker’s Pizza and Old 30 BBQ to provide educational opportunities for their employees. This initiative allows employees at both restaurants to pursue certificate or college programs at NCSC at little or no cost.
Chris Copper, Vice President of Foundation and Development, highlighted the significance of this partnership. “February is often thought of as a time to give from the heart. Baker’s and Old 30 are caring employers, offering gainful employment at their restaurants. Now they will support their employees who wish to attend NCSC,” Copper said. He emphasized that this partnership is made possible by the commitment of Baker’s Pizza and Old 30 BBQ to the community’s economic development.
The program includes training in Excel, Supervision, and Customer Service, along with numerous NCSC online, one-year certificate programs. These certificates, which are tuition-free for employees, can be completed within a year. Available programs include Operations Management, Supervision, Certified Bookkeeper, Business Analytics, Manufacturing Foundations, Windows Server Administration, Microsoft Applications, Network Security, Information Security Analyst, Substance Abuse Studies/CDCA, and Water Technology.
Jessica Shifley, owner of Baker’s Pizza expressed enthusiasm for the initiative. “As businesses who have always been strongly supported by our community, we feel it is important, and are excited, to participate in another investment opportunity in our employees and the Crawford County community,” Shifley said.
Residents interested in employment can apply at Baker’s Pizza or Old 30 BBQ or visit their websites. The NCSC Foundation is also ready to assist students with tuition or ancillary expenses.
This partnership aims to provide a pipeline of talent to serve area businesses and set the pace for 2025. NCSC has a strong track record of providing scholarships, with three out of four students graduating without college debt.
