The Crawford County Regional Planning Commission held its final meeting Wednesday to tie up some loose ends before officially disbanding.

Dale Sipe and County Auditor Robin Hildebrand presided over the final meeting at the County Engineer’s Office which saw the commission approve the final budget, final audit, and reallocation of the leftover money back to the townships.

“When we met last time, we entertained the motion to disband, but we didn’t put it into a resolution so the auditor caught that,” Sipe said.

“The Regional Planning Commission was an information center within the community,” Sipe continued. “The more you know what is going on in a community the more you feel a part of that community.”

A final budget of $10,098 was approved with no objection for the fiscal year.

Also approved was an adjustment to the budget which pays $2,300 for the final audit from the state, and $391.22 to the Ohio Bureau of Worker’s Compensation.

The Planning Commission also approved to transfer all equipment to the county’s organization for economic development.

Following Ohio Revised Code, the commission agreed to have the records kept in the County Commissioners’ locked storage.

After all final bills are paid, the board voted to reallocate the money back to the local government entities based on the percentages that each paid into the organization in 2013. After the County Commissioners receive an estimated share of $4,400, each township will receive approximately $50 to $150. Bucyrus is estimated to receive $877, Galion $745, and Crestline $327.

“I want to thank you all,” Hildebrand said. “One of my great enjoyments while working as county auditor was working with this group.”
