While some places get a ribbon cutting ceremony during their grand opening, some get one for a grand reopening. Such was the case for Cooper’s Mill Thursday morning.
The grand reopening is due to the two-month renovation for the North Sandusky Street facility to make it a more contemporary country style and create a more unique shopping experience for patrons.
Cooper’s Mill Vice-President Justin McMullen was excited for the grand reopening.
“We were just excited about the foundation that David and Miriam had started with Cooper’s Mill and just saw an opportunity and need in the community to kind of build on what they started and add specialty a gourmet country market to the area,” McMullen said.
The renovations, which were done by J&F Construction as well as other contractors, include 400 feet of added retail space, new equipment, displays, ceilings, lights, flooring, and much more.
With the renovations Cooper’s Mill is looking to help local producers and farmers out as well.
”Hopefully with the additions we can satisfy kind of a need we saw for the local community to shop here in this market, and hopefully bring local producers, local farmers in together to have an opportunity to support them and sell their products at our stores to the local community,” McMullen said.
“We also want try to obviously take advantage of any lake traffic that comes through here up to the lake, and we have a lot of tours that we handled throughout the years so hopefully we have enough product offerings to make a really unique tour experience. So hopefully with the expansions we can appease the local community and hopefully attract people into the area as well,” McMullen added.
With their offerings of all-natural jams, jellies, juices, as well as Amish meats and cheeses, and local foods, and seasonal produce Cooper’s Mill is open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. More information on Cooper’s Mill can be found online at www.facebook.com/coopersmillohio.
