UPPER SANDUSKY, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A long-standing Ohio agricultural company is expanding its presence in Wyandot County with the acquisition of a grain elevator and rail transload facility in Upper Sandusky.
The Kalmbach family announced Aug. 28 that it acquired the facility at 798 Lincoln Way from Mennel Milling Company. The property includes extensive grain storage and high-capacity unit-car rail transloading capabilities.
For Kalmbach Feeds, the acquisition provides greater direct access to locally sourced grain while supporting the company’s growing investments in feed, pet food and ingredient manufacturing and distribution.
Paul Kalmbach Jr. said the transaction reflects a strong relationship between the two family-owned companies.
“We really appreciate the opportunity to work with Mennel, another exceptional family business,” Kalmbach said. “This transaction was built on trust and reflects the great working relationship between our two teams.”
He added that the facility’s capabilities will help Kalmbach better serve customers for generations to come.
The acquisition further strengthens Kalmbach’s agricultural footprint in the region and adds new grain-handling and transportation capabilities to its operations.
