MARION—On Wednesday at 3:58 pm, Marion Police responded to the 340 block on North Main Street regarding a shooting incident. Upon arrival, Marion Police Officers located a twenty-seven-year-old male in a nearby parking lot who sustained multiple gunshot wounds as the result of an altercation with an armed assailant.
The victim was transported to Marion General Hospital by Marion City Fire Medics and later by air medics to Grant Hospital in Columbus.
The victim, in this case, Charles A. Feliciano, age 27 of Marion, later died of his injuries.
The suspect, Christian Gutierrez, age 19 of Marion, was arrested at the Quality Inn on Columbus Pike in Delaware, Ohio, without incident. Mr. Gutierrez was taken to the Multi-County Jail and booked in on murder charges while awaiting formal charges from the Marion County Prosecutor.
Marion Prosecutor Ray Grogan announced Friday that Christian Gutierrez has been charged with aggravated murder, murder, and felonious assault, all with gun specifications attached. If convicted, he could spend the rest of his life in prison.
The prosecutor’s office has filed a motion to have Gutierrez held without bond. Gutierrez will be arraigned on Monday at 1 pm in the Marion County Common Pleas Court.
