It did not take long for probation violations to be filed against Heather Hunt after she was arrested during a traffic stop Tuesday night.
Twenty-six-year-old Hunt appeared in Crawford County Common Pleas Court Thursday afternoon to answer to allegations that she violated her community control. It was alleged that Hunt was found in possession of a schedule II controlled substance on Jan. 19 and, a day later, refused to submit to a requested drug screen and was discovered with 75 doses of heroin at the Crawford County Justice Center.
Hunt denied the allegations.
Assistant prosecutor Ryan Hoovler requested a $250,000 bond on Hunt due to the allegations of drug use and the amount of drugs found on her at the jail.
Defense attorney Adam Stone, who had been appointed as counsel at the beginning of the hearing, challenged the large bond and argued that Hunt had injuries and infections that the jail would be unable to care for.
Judge Sean Leuthold, however, pointed to the amount of drugs found on Hunt’s person at the jail. “That is indicative of trafficking,” Leuthold stated as he set bond at $250,000.
A hearing has been set for 10:30 a.m. Friday concerning new charges of drug possession and the illegal conveyance into a detention facility.
Hunt has two felony drug possession convictions in Crawford County that occurred in 2010 and 2012. In both cases, Hunt had been placed on community control.
