GALION, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Galion Community Theatre will open its doors to host Amplified Expressions of Our Journey, a special free event on September 19 from 5:30 to 8:00 pm. Organized by the Crawford County Prevention Coalition, the evening will bring together local artists and local residents whose lives have been touched by substance use to share stories of recovery, resilience, and hope through art.
For the project, local artists created one-of-a-kind pieces inspired by the personal journeys of participating community members. During the event, those works will be revealed, and the stories behind them will be shared, giving attendees an opportunity to experience recovery through both personal testimony and creative expression.
Amplified Expressions is designed to shine a light on recovery while reducing stigma surrounding substance use. By creating space for people to tell their stories and for the community to listen, the Crawford County Prevention Coalition hopes to strengthen understanding, compassion, and connection while reminding residents that recovery is possible and support is available.
“Every person’s journey is different, and every recovery story has the power to create hope,” said Christi Eckert, Crawford County Prevention Coalition Coordinator. “This unique event gives people an opportunity to be seen and heard while also showcasing the talent and compassion of local artists. We want this evening to remind our community that no one has to walk the road to recovery alone.”
The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be available, and attendees will have opportunities to connect with artists, participants, and members of the community.
