CRESTLINE—The Crestline Historical Society Board of Directors has approved the re-opening of the Crestline Historical Museum, located at 400 Scott St., in Crestline beginning on Saturday, July 18, from 2 to 4 p.m. The museum will also be open on Sunday, July 19, from 2 to 4 p.m. Beginning in August, the established schedule will begin with the first and third full weekends of each month.
The re-opening goal is to be in compliance with Governor DeWine’s guidelines in order to have a safe environment for museum volunteers and our patrons and visitors. The Society Policy Committee created the Best Practice Document from the following resources: Ohio Dept of Health, Gov. Dewine Coronavirus website, Ohio Museum Association Webinar, Conference call with Crawford County Health Commissioner Blythe Buurma and CDC Guidelines.
An ODH flyer will be posted at the entrance of the museum that reads: ATTENTION- not to enter if symptomatic. This flyer produced by ODH lists the COVID-19 symptoms.
The Best Practices include that museum volunteers are to wear masks during the open house. Flyers will be posted to encourage visitors to wear masks and social distance. The ODH Flyer Coronavirus “Prevention” will be posted throughout the display and exhibit area. There will also be the placement of hand sanitizers and flyers promoting handwashing and sanitizing at the museum. Museum volunteers will disinfect and sanitize high contact surfaces every two hours during events and there will be CDC flyers to stop the spread of germs posted in each restroom.
Our capacity will be a ratio of one volunteer for every 10 to 12 visitors. This will require visitors to wait outside until inside visitors exit to maintain the 1 to 10/12 ratio. The goal will be to have two volunteers on open house weekends.
The Society looks forward to the re-opening and encourages all citizens to remember #weareallinthistogether.
