BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Crawford Success Center has announced its upcoming summer workforce development lineup alongside open enrollment opportunities for the fall semester.

Nate Harvey, manager of the Crawford Success Center, announced a specialized 20-hour Introduction to Pneumatics training series taking place at the Timken Manufacturing Lab on June 16, 23, and 30. The program is designed to give regional manufacturing employees foundational skills in pressure-operated mechanical systems. The center also plans to offer ongoing professional development courses throughout the year covering Microsoft applications, customer service, and corporate leadership.

In addition to industrial training, campus officials are emphasizing the long-term value of traditional academic paths. Laura Irmer, Assistant Dean of Liberal Arts at North Central State College, highlighted how the institution’s associate degree pathways—including psychology, education, and social work—focus heavily on building essential “human skills” like critical thinking and adaptability. Irmer noted these skills are becoming increasingly vital as higher education adapts to the rise of artificial intelligence tools like ChatGPT.

Prospective students looking to start classes for the fall semester, which begins August 10, are encouraged to visit the center for walk-in assistance. Staff are available to help applicants complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Eligible students can secure federal Pell Grants up to $7,395, which can completely cover the tuition cost of an associate degree or certificate program.

The Crawford Success Center is located on Walnut Street in Bucyrus, directly across from the Crawford County Courthouse, and can be reached at 419-755-9039.
