CRAWFORD COUNTY, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Marion Crawford Prevention Programs has unveiled a series of upcoming community events for late summer, and autumn aimed at raising awareness, supporting individuals in recovery, and promoting substance-free lifestyles for area youth.

The schedule begins on Monday, Aug. 31, with an Overdose Awareness Day event at The Hub gazebo in Crestline from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Organized by the Crawford Prevention Coalition, the evening will feature a ceremonial butterfly release to honor individuals lost to addiction and offer support to impacted families.

In September, the focus shifts to youth involvement and recovery advocacy. On Thursday, Sept. 17, the Crawford Youth Rally will gather students from all six county public school districts at Shines Art Park in Bucyrus for games, speakers, and peer leadership activities. A similar Marion Youth Rally will follow on Thursday, Sept. 24, on Center Street in downtown Marion. Both events serve as kickoffs for school-based Teen Institute programs.

Additionally, the annual “Amplified Expressions of Our Journey” event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Galion Community Theatre from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The showcase pairs individuals in recovery with local artists who translate their personal recovery stories into original artwork.

The fall lineup concludes on Tuesday, Sept. 29, with a full-day trauma conference hosted by Drug-Free Marion, offering specialized workshops on family dynamics and wellness techniques for individuals in recovery.
