BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A Crawford County Common Pleas Court jury returned a verdict late Friday evening, convicting a Galion man on several felony and misdemeanor charges while acquitting him of the more serious counts of rape and aggravated burglary.
Finley Foust, 36, was found guilty of kidnapping, domestic violence, violation of a protection order, intimidation, tampering with evidence, and parole violation. Foust, who has been in custody at the Crawford County Jail since November 2025, was represented during the trial by court-appointed attorney Robert Dintaman.
Following the verdict, Crawford County Prosecutor Matt Crall praised the efforts of the prosecution team and law enforcement:
“We thank the jury for their service; they had a significant amount of evidence to review,” Crall told Crawford County Now. “Assistant Prosecutor Dan Stanley did a great job working with the victim and Galion Detective Brandon Grant to prove the case. We look forward to sentencing.”
While the jury cleared Foust of the rape and aggravated burglary charges, he still faces a lengthy prison term for the remaining convictions.
Sentencing will be scheduled at a later date, at which time Crawford County Common Pleas Court Judge Sean Leuthold will determine the final penalty.
