LEXINGTON, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The crowning ceremony for the Miss Blueberry Pageant took place Thursday evening, where the new royalty for 2026 was crowned.
The new Miss Teen Blueberry is 14-year-old Sophia Deel. Deel is going into the ninth grade and attends Ontario High School.
Deel says she chose to run because she has always looked up to the other girls who have been crowned, and she also wanted to be that inspiration for other young girls.
She says she is so happy to be the 2026 Miss Teen Blueberry and is excited to share it with everyone.
“Before I came, I was like, if this is what God wants me to do, then this is who I’m going to be and what I’m going to do,” said Deel.
Her advice for others is to never take no for an answer.
“All you gotta do is just try and put in your best effort, and it will pay off,” says Deel.
Deel would like to thank her mom and her sisters for always encouraging her. She would also like to thank Miss Ontario for always being an inspiration and for helping her whenever she needed it.
Taking the crown for Miss Blueberry is 11-year-old Claire Davisson, who is in fifth grade.
Davisson says she is happy to be taking on the role of Miss Blueberry.
“I am just completely in shock. I’m so happy and grateful. I just want to give all the glory to God, and I am just so grateful it is me,” said Davisson.
Davisson says she chose to run because it truly is her passion.
“I love giving back to the community, and I love competing in pageants. That was really my passion, I just love sharing the stage with all my friends,” said Davisson.
Her advice for others is to always keep trying.
“I would definitely keep on trying, keep your head up, if you do not win, always try out next year, and always just remember that you are special,” Davisson says.
Davisson would like to thank all of the previous Blueberries and all of the people who competed. She would also like to thank her mom for always helping her and making sure her hair was perfect and that she had a smile on her face.
