BUCYRUS — In a rare move, Crawford County Common Pleas Court Judge Sean Leuthold ordered a pre-sentence investigation for a Galion woman.

Christina Cain, 45, of Galion pleaded guilty to two charges Thursday in Common Pleas Court, one count of trafficking in drugs, a fourth-degree felony punishable by up to 18 months in prison and one count of possession of drugs a fifth-degree felony punishable by up to 12 months in prison.

Leuthold told the prosecutor and the defense attorney that he would hear arguments on sentencing after he received the pre-sentence investigation. He permitted Cain to be released on a personal recognizance bond pending sentencing.

“This is your chance to show the court you can abide by rules,” Leuthold said. “If you violate your bond in any way I will bring you back into court and sentence you without a completed pre-sentence investigation. Do you understand?”

Cain indicated she understood.

In other court action, Austin Law, 24, of Ravenna, pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony punishable with up to 18 months in prison. As part of a plea deal, Law was placed in the prosecutor’s diversion program. If Law successfully completes the program the felony charge will be dismissed.

Vincent Horsley, 28, of Galion pleaded guilty to felony domestic violence a fourth-degree felony punishable with up to 18 months in prison.

Horsley was placed on five years of community control. He must complete anger management counseling and have a drug and alcohol assessment. Leuthold ordered him to not have any contact with the victim, who is his wife.

“I know eventually I will have to allow you to have contact but for the time being you are to stay away from her,” Leuthold said. “You’re on very thin ice here, behave yourself.”

Alexandria Howard, 24, of Bucyrus entered a guilty plea to possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony punishable by up to 12 months in prison. As part of her plea deal, she was placed on the Intervention in Lieu of Conviction program.

“Things can go south quickly if you don’t abide by this program. So, behave yourself and do what you need to do,” Leuthold said.

Jeffery Zenowicz, 25, of Bucyrus had his 24-month prison sentence imposed after he pleaded guilty to violating the terms and conditions of his community control.

According to charges, Zenowicz failed to report for office visits, moved without notifying his probation officer of his new address, changed jobs without notifying his probation officer and associated with known felons. Zenowicz will receive credit for jail time served. Leuthold said he would not oppose transitional control.
