TIFFIN, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A 41-year-old Tiffin man was taken into custody Saturday night after he allegedly wandered into a stranger’s home and fell asleep in a chair.
Tiffin police were dispatched to a residence on Douglas Street shortly before 8 p.m. following a report from a homeowner who discovered an unknown, intoxicated man inside his house.
By the time officers arrived, the individual had moved outside. Police identified the man as Andrew Lovas, 41, of Tiffin. Emergency medical personnel were requested to evaluate his condition, and officers recorded a preliminary breath-test reading of .230, according to the police log.
Following the evaluation, Lovas was taken into custody and transported to the Seneca County Jail. He was booked at 8:33 p.m. on a charge of disorderly conduct under Ohio Revised Code 2917.11(B)(1), which pertains to disorderly behavior while voluntarily intoxicated.
Jail records describe the charge as disorderly conduct involving intoxication that causes annoyance or alarm. No bail amount was listed in the booking report.
Authorities reported no injuries in connection with the incident, and there were no indications that Lovas attempted to steal or damage any property inside the residence.
