CRAWFORD COUNTY, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—After an extensive investigation lasting nearly two years, Miranda Jones, the former Executive Director of the Galion/Crestline Chamber of Commerce, has been indicted by a Crawford County Grand Jury.
Jones was booked into the Crawford County Jail on Saturday night at 8:04 PM.
She faces serious charges, including one count of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, a first-degree felony. Additionally, Jones is charged with identity fraud, money laundering, and telecommunications fraud, all classified as third-degree felonies. She also faces four counts of forgery, each a fifth-degree felony, and one count of theft, a fourth-degree felony. If convicted on all counts, Jones could potentially serve nearly 20 years in prison.
Jones’ legal troubles began in February 2024 when the Galion-Crestline Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors uncovered instances of alleged misconduct and possible misappropriation of funds by their former Executive Director. This discovery triggered a comprehensive internal investigation by the Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
In response to the situation, the Board pledged to take immediate action to ensure transparency and accountability, a commitment that is now being upheld with the announcement of these charges.
The indictment was brought by a special prosecutor.
Jones is scheduled to be arraigned in the Crawford County Common Pleas Court on Monday at 2 PM.
