BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The 58th annual Bucyrus Bratwurst Festival kicked off today, celebrating its “Brattie Supports Our Educators” theme with a full slate of activities and entertainment.
The festival, widely known as “Ohio’s Eatingest Festival,” officially began at 11 a.m. with an opening ceremony on the Wyandot Mutual Stage at Shines Art Park. The event’s reigning queen had the honor of eating the first bratwurst of the weekend.
Throughout the afternoon, enjoy various events, including a performance by Dylan Coppler. The Wyandot Mutual Stage is also hosting the popular Bratwurst Eating Contest at 4p.m., a fan-favorite tradition.
As the sun begins to set, downtown Bucyrus will be filled with excitement for the daily parade at 6 p.m. The procession, which is a unique feature of the festival with a parade each night, moved through the city streets before the evening’s main events.
On the Ohio Mutual Stage at FCBank, the band Recess will take to the stage, followed by the Wet Bandits. Meanwhile, the Wyandot Mutual Stage will host the crowning of the Junior Princess, Princess, and Queen.
The festival continues through Saturday, with a full schedule of music, parades, and contests. For a full list of events, visit the Bucyrus Bratwurst Festival website.
