Heather Trummell appeared in Crawford County Common Pleas Court Thursday morning to await her sentencing.

The 49-year-old Bucyrus woman had pleaded guilty to a fifth-degree felony possession of drugs in February but a pre-sentence investigation had been ordered before any sentence was imposed.
“The sentence agreed to between the parties seems to be the appropriate sentence,” assistant county prosecutor Ryan Hoovler said.

Common Pleas Court Judge Sean Leuthold reviewed the pre-sentence investigation and the agreed-to sentence before warning Trummell that one wrong step would land her in jail. “Probation means something different than it did six months ago,” he stated.

Leuthold then sentenced Trummell to five years on community control with the stipulation that she undergo a drug and alcohol treatment program.

When Leuthold added that she would be tested for drugs often, Trummell said that he could test her every day. Leuthold responded that she just might get her wish.

Trummell also had her driver’s license suspended for six months and was ordered to pay a $1,250 mandatory drug fine. She must also forfeit any drug-related property being held to the Bucyrus Police Department.
