Crawford County Municipal Court Judge Sean Leuthold set bond at $1 million Monday for Jason Bell, the man charged in Friday’s two-vehicle accident that left a Reynoldsburg couple dead.
The 18-year-old Bell is charged with third degree felony aggravated vehicular homicide, driving without an operator’s license and fictitious registration. Killed were Louann and Robert Widdoes. Bell is also charged with running a stop sign at the intersection of Brokensword Road and St. Rt. 4.
Bell and two of his passengers were treated and released from Bucyrus Community Hospital. A third passenger in Bell’s vehicle, Michelle Moore, is in fair condition at St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo. If convicted of the charge of aggravated vehicular homicide, Bell could be sentenced to as many as five years in prison and fined $10,000.
Leuthold appointed Rolf Whitney to represent Bell. Bell will have a preliminary hearing at 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 27. Bell will also have a pretrial hearing stemming from the traffic violations at 10:45 a.m. on Nov. 24.
Rather than go to a jury trial Kevin Parker plead guilty to a second degree felony burglary in Common Pleas Court.. Parker was given a four-year prison sentence with 73 days credit served.
Timmy Brown had his original sentence for second degree felony drug trafficking reimposed after violating community control. Brown was originally sentenced to four on the first count and 11 months for drug possession.
Joseph West waived his right to counsel and pleaded guilty to community control violations. West was sentenced to serve six months prison time.
Shawn Smith decided to waive a jury trial as well Monday. Smith, who was charged fifth degree felony drug trafficking, was given six months in jail with 62 days credit served.
Hollie Riddle had her bond hearing and case continued for disposition. Riddle was to have a hearing on a motion on charges she violated terms of her community control.
Marrissa Donohue also had her community control violations hearing continued.
Daniel Lee Rosas was arraigned on a fifth degree felony breaking and entering charge. Rosas was given a $50,000 cash or surety bond.
Jeremiah Carroll was granted judicial release Monday. Carroll will serve five years on community control with drug and alcohol evaluations.
