Returning after a year’s hiatus, families flocked to Lowe-Volk Park on Saturday for the Crawford Park District’s annual Water Carnival.
Families looking for a fun time and a place to cool off on Saturday didn’t need to look any farther than the Water Carnival as kids,, and kids at heart, shot each other with squirt guns, hurled water balloons, and slid down the slip-and-slide.
“We try to connect how important our water resources are, but in the big picture kids are just out here having fun,” Crawford Park District Director Bill Fisher said.
Brandon Trammell’s favorite part of the Water Carnival was riding the banana bike on the pond.
“Basically I pedaled it around, and started rocking it,” Trammell said.
Also on the pond were a paddle boat and a ball filled with air which allowed carnival goers the chance to roll over the water. Candy Giesege explained what the experience was like.
“It was really fun, and interesting, and you can roll through the pond, and you can see what is in the pond. It was really nice,” Giesige said. “I enjoyed it because I could be in the water, and not get wet.”
