BUCYRUS — Cody Yeager of Crestline appeared in Crawford County Common Pleas Court where he pleaded guilty three counts of felonious assault, each punishable with up to eight years in prison.

In a plea negotiation, Common Pleas Court Judge Sean Leuthold sentenced Yeager to four years in prison on the first count and two years on each of the other two for a total of eight years in prison. Yeager, 33, will be eligible for judicial release after serving five years.

Yeager’s case falls under the sentencing guideline of the Reagan Tokes Act. If Yeager completes the entire prison sentence without a judicial release, his sentence can either be extended or lessened by the Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections.

The DRC takes several factors into consideration in determining if a sentence can be increased or shortened, including conduct while incarcerated, rehabilitation, threat to society and special housing needs.

If an inmate is found in good behavior, the sentence can be reduced by 5-15%. If behavior is unacceptable, the sentence can be increased by as much as 50%.

When asked if he had anything to say, Yeager told the court, “I’m ready to get it over with.”

Yeager will receive 192 days of jail time credit.

In other court action, Quinton Price, 33, of Fremont was charged with violating the terms and conditions of his community control. Price was placed on five years of community control in January after he pleaded guilty to possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony punishable with up to one year in prison.

According to probation officer Mark Alspach, Price was charged in Marion with operating a motor vehicle while impaired and possession of Xanax.

Leuthold ordered the matter set for a full hearing. Price told the court he would retain his own attorney and bond was set at $50,000.

Amanda Bowling, 33, of Grand Prairie pleaded guilty to violating the terms and conditions of her community control. Bowling was placed on community control in March after she pleaded guilty to possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony punishable with up to one year in prison.

Eight days after being placed on community control Bowling, tested positive for meth and methamphetamines. Leuthold imposed one year in prison with a possible judicial release after 30 days.
