BUCYRUS — Terry Gribble has been the CEO of the Galion YMCA Community Center for 32 years and is now running in the primary election for the Crawford County Commissioner.

The seat currently is occupied by Mo Ressallat who is not seeking re-election.

Gribble resides in Galion with his wife, Leigh Anne, and is the father of two daughters who are schoolteachers and a son who works as a firefighter in Columbus.

He says his years of service ledaing the YMCA will assist him in serving the residents of Crawford County.

“My experience with budgeting and managing employees will assist me in my role as commissioner,” Gribble said. “I have an ability to communicate with people and I am a good steward of financial resources. I am a hardworking, honest, respected community leader.”

Gribble said it is extremely important to listen to the citizens of Crawford County.

“They want and should be heard,” he said. “Gathering information from them will help in making important decisions. I have been saying at all the meetings I have attended at night, when elected I will go to the evening meetings around the county and share information and continue to listen to the residents.”

Gribble said that whatever is good for Bucyrus, Galion, Crestline or New Washington is good for the county.

“Route 30 is 93 percent travel reliability, the highest in Ohio,” Gribble said. “We need to push this fact to businesses looking to relocate as it is easy and cost effective to use Route 30 for moving products and goods. It is good, as well, as easy travel for employees.”

Gribble has a Bachelor of Science degree from Lock Haven University and a master’s degree from Miami University of Ohio.

“I am concerned, committed and creative in my leadership and will move our county forward. I have served on several boards of directors throughout the county and truly understand the need to work together,” Gribble said. “My mission is to serve the residents of Crawford County as the citizens’ commissioner.”

He is vying for the position against Amber Wertman, Larry Schmidt and Michael Schiefer.

Early voting is underway at the Crawford County Board of Elections in the lower level of the Crawford County Courthouse in Bucyrus or residents can vote at their polling location March 17.
