BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Voters in the Wynford School District narrowly defeated a school levy bid with 576 voters favoring the levy and 680 against it. Meanwhile, levies for Jefferson, Liberty (EMS and Fire) and Polk Township Fire all saw successful renewals. Elected offices that were unopposed included Crawford County Common Pleas Court Judge Sean Leuthold, Matthew Crall for Probate and Family Court Judge, County Commissioner Time Ley, and County Auditor Robyn Sheets.
Many new faces entered the bid for a seat on the Republican Central Committee but only one succeeded. Greg White in Precinct 3C was unopposed. Others relected to serve include: Mayor Bruce Truks 1A, Eric Griebling 2B, Carol Miller, 3A, Joyce Schifer 3B, Ricky McWaters 4A, and Paul Moser 4B.
In Crestline, Stephanie Williams 1A, Darlene Haines 2A, and Linda Horning-Pitt 4A.
Galion includes Daniel Stanley 2A, Michael Bear 2B, Keith Moore 3A, and Jo Swain 4C.
The county Townships include: John Volk Bucyrus Township, Glen Feichtner Chatfield Township, no results were listed for Dallas Township, Larry Schmidt Holmes-Texas Township, Wayne Leuthold Liberty Township, Kay Weisnauer Lykens Township, Julie Bell Polk Township, Suzanne Rothhaar Sandusky-Whetstone Township North, and Ted Coulter of Whetstone Township South.
Two local businesses in Galion’s precinct 1A and three establishments in Galion’s 4A precinct will be permitted to offer Sunday Liquor Sales.
All results are pending the Crawford County Board of Elections’ certification.
