The Graders halted their seven- game slide on Thursday night as they defeated the Licking County Settlers by a final of 4-0.
The victory comes as a result of quality pitching by the Graders staff. Starter Will Orr went six innings and only gave up two hits. Ben Hamilton and Brody Basilone combined to work the seventh, eighth and ninth and didn’t allow a hit.
JT Core sparked the Grader offense going two-for-four with an RBI and a walk. Cotlon Carney and Tyler Ocker each added a hit and run scored. Zach DeThomasis had a hit and an RBI.
Heath McRae took the loss for the Settlers giving up two runs on three hits and walking three over just three innings pitched.
The Graders try to even the season series at 2-2 on Friday night at Heise Park. First pitch is slated for 7:05.
