With the N10 championship potentially on the line, the Wynford Royals traveled to Seneca East Friday night to face the Tigers in a battle of the unbeaten.

wynford-vs-seneca-east-5With both teams locked into a 7-0 record entering the game only one team would be able to emerge unscathed, but in the end it was the Royals extending their record on a 35-12 victory.

Amassing 304 of Wynford’s 385 total yards from scrimmage quarterback Zach Hoffman led Wynford’s attack on the ground with 255 yards and 4 touchdowns and in the air completing 5 of 6 passes for 49 yards.

Trouble hit Seneca East early on when their starting quarterback, and the N10’s leading passer, Brennan Martin was taken out of the game with an injury. Bo Smith stepped in completing 6 passes on 10 attempts for 41 yards and rushing the ball 16 times for 62 yards.

With the win Wynford stays unblemished with an 8-0 overall record and 6-0 in the N10. The Royals will travel to Upper Sandusky to take on the Rams next Friday.

With the Loss the Tigers fall to 7-1 and 6-1 respectively and will travel for a non-league game against Tiffin Calvert next week.

buckeye-central-vs-bucyrus-14Trailing 33-14 at the half, the Buckeye Central Bucks outscored the Bucyrus Redmen 27-7 in the second half to win 41-40.

Buckeye Central was led on the ground by Owen Ackerman who ran for 151 yards on 23 attempts and three touchdowns.  In the air quarterback Max Loy went 18 of 30 for 244 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jeff Hall led Bucks receivers with 104 yards and a touchdown.

Bucyrus quarterback Gavin Lewis went 23 of 40 for 322 yards and 4 touchdowns. Trenton Dunford was Bucyrus’ leading receiver with 5 receptions for 123 yards and a touchdown.

With the win Buckeye Central improves to 2-6 on the season with a 2-4 N10 record. The Bucks will host Route 602 rival Colonel Crawford next Friday.

Bucyrus falls to 0-8 and 0-6 respectively. The Redmen will travel to Carey next Friday in search of their first victory of the season.

In other action around the county Colonel Crawford defeated Lucas 47-20, Galion defeated Fairbanks 28-25, and Crestline fell to Fremont St. Joseph Central Catholic 30-16.

In non-county N10 action Carey defeated Ridgedale 48-6 and Mohawk defeated Upper Sandusky 28-26.
