Matthew 11:28

“Come to me, all who are weary & burdened, I will give you rest.”

Bill was welcomed into his eternal home on December 17, 2022, in Crestline, Ohio with his loving family surrounding him. Bill lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and the Lord above all else, leading with light and love. He was the backbone to our family, the best husband, father, grandfather, King Pappy, son, brother and uncle.

Bill was born in Mansfield on July 13, 1959, to William and Shelby (Moore) Amore Sr. He married Rebecca Nalbach on April 14, 1978, and she survives him, with 44 years of marriage.

Bill attended Crestline High School, Class of 1977, and Pioneer JVS in Shelby. Bill was a former machinist at North Electric in Galion for fifteen years, former owner of the Base Mint, a sports memorabilia shop and retired from driving truck for Circuit City in 2010. Bill was a member of the Faith Community Church in Crestline where he played guitar and sang for the members. Bill passed just before any of the Cleveland teams were prepared to turn the corner, but was always an avid fan of the Cleveland teams and The Ohio State Buckeyes. His laughter, smile and sarcasm will be greatly missed.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Shannon (Tesso) and Brian Artz of Crestline, and Jamie & Matt Mullen of Crestline; his grandchildren, Jordan & Caylie Tesso, Jonathan Tesso, Jaelyn Tesso, Whitney (Artz) & Del Edler, Austin & Joellen Artz, Aaron Lampkin, Jenna (Amore) & Nathaniel Tanner, Jeremiah Amore, Hailey, Amber and Brandon Mullen; great-grandchildren, Charli Tesso, Elizabeth Tanner and baby Edler expected June 2023; brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie & Sheila Amore; nephew, Richard; sister and brother-in-law, Lisa & Jason Ensminger; niece Anastasia. Along with many cousins, friends and his best companion, his goldendoodle, Buddy.

Bill was preceded in death by grandparents, Bervil & Eva Amore and Ernest & Mildred Moore and son-in-law, Michael Tesso Jr., whom he shared a love hate relationship with the Cleveland Browns, sipping coffee on the porch and talking trains.

Bill was always reading a book of some sort and learning about the history of the Civil War and Gettysburg. He took many trips visiting Gettysburg, PA. Bill was also into his family history and genealogy, tracing his family tree back to the 1800’s. His favorite thing to do when the weather and his health allowed, was to go to his daughter and son-in-law’s farm to sit in the pasture with the calves and kids, and enjoying his own steer, Fred G. Sanford. Bill and Becky were treated to a trip to Gatlinburg for their 40th wedding anniversary with Brian & Shannon. Every Saturday morning, Bill and his siblings would get together at their parent’s house to enjoy a cup of coffee and chat over coffee cake.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Avita Ontario, the Crestline Nursing Center and Southern Care Hospice.
