SHELBY, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Shelby’s annual Bicycle Days Celebration begins this Friday and will continue through Saturday.

Friday’s celebration will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the opening of the Main Midway. Food trucks and other vendors will be available until 10:00 pm. 

Beginning at 11:00 a.m., the public may come and take a photo with the Midway Marquee letters, which will be available until 10:00 p.m. 

Also taking place at 11:00 a.m. is Ax Throwing, which will continue until 10:00 p.m.

The Kids Passport Contest, where kids can complete three of the six bicycle days events for a chance to win a 20” bike or a Target gift card, will be available all day.

Also available all day will be the Kids Bicycle Registration. Parents can register their child’s bike with the Shelby Police Department so that, in the case it is stolen, it can be tracked and returned to its rightful owner. 

The Kids Zone will be available from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Shelby Veterans Memorial Event Center for those with a required wristband.

For all those 21 years of age and older, the beer garden will be available from 1:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

A balloon artist will be available from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The Jones Clones Plus Jake will be performing at the Black Fork Commons Amphitheatre from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

From 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the Midway DJ will be playing music, and at 4:00 p.m. 

The dunk tank will open and be available until 8:00 p.m.

Blake Bailey the Magician will be putting on a show at 4:30 p.m. at the Black Fork Commons Amphitheatre. 

The Inflatable Zone will open up at 5:00 p.m. and continue until 11:00 p.m. 

Starting at 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., Kids Safety Spot will be in the parking lot near Skiles Lawn. 

The Shelby Bicycle Museum Open House will be available from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Shelby Justice Center. 

As the night winds down, there will be live music from Gone Sovereign for people to enjoy starting at 8:30 p.m. at the Black Fork Commons Amphitheatre. 

The celebration continues bright and early the next morning at 8:30 a.m. with the 14th annual Lindy Flyer Bike Tour.

Beginning at 9:00 p.m., the Shelby Farmers Market will be happening at Shelby First Lutheran Church.

The Shelby Bicycle Museum Open House will be at the Shelby Justice Center again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., along with the Shelby Steel and Wheel Tour, which will begin at 10:00 a.m. 

The Main Midway will open up at 11:00 a.m. and will be available until 11:00 p.m. Festival goers can enjoy the Midway Marquee Letters and Ax Throwing again on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. 

The Kids’ Passport Contest and Kids’ Bicycle Registration will also be happening all day again as well. 

The Inflatable Zone will open up again on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. and will continue until 11:00 p.m.

The Kids Bike Clinic as well as the Bike Decorating Contest will be from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Seltzer Park Tennis Courts.

The Kids Zone will be taking place from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. again, and the Beer Garden will be from 1:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. again on Saturday as well.

At 2:00 p.m., the Shelby Bicycle Days Parade will begin and head down Main Street and Gamble Street.

The Whiz Bang Science Show will be taking place at the Black Fork Commons Amphitheatre, and the Shelby Help Line Pie Auction will be at the Black Fork Commons.

The dunk tank will be available from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. 

From 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the Princess Meet and Greet will be happening at the Main Street Band Stand, where people can meet and take a photo with their favorite character princesses. 

A balloon artist will be available again on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and the Midway DJ will be playing music beginning at 4:00 p.m. up until the fireworks later that night. 

The Northern Raiders will also be at the celebration with their armored combat from 4:15 p.m. until 5:15 p.m. and again from 5:45 p.m. until 6:45 p.m.

Kids Minispokes will be happening on Skiles Lawn from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and beginning at 7:30 p.m., Triad will be performing at the Black Fork Commons Amphitheatre.

The two-day-long festivities will conclude at dark with the Shelby Bicycle Days Fireworks.
