For the second time in less than two months a Crestline resident has come to a Village Council meeting wanting the mayor out of office. Monday night Dave Duncan requested Village Council remove Mayor David Sharrock from office, or that Sharrock resign.

That follows a request by David Crokie on Oct. 27 that Sharrock resign.

During the portion of the meeting reserved for members of the public to address council, Duncan requested the removal of Sharrock from office after his requests to look into the village’s police department didn’t come to fruition.

Crestline Village Council did approve an amendment using emergency provisions to one of their codified ordinances.

Forgoing the third reading council members approved amending section 181.07 of the Crestline Codified Ordinances which limits the credit for tax paid to other municipalities to only tax payers who make and file on-time tax returns.

Prior to approving the measure Council member Gene Toy asked if the new wording was for those who file on an April 15 deadline, or for those who file every quarter. Village Administrator Marc Milliron explained that it applies to both groups.

John Hess also came before Village Council during the public comment period. Hess spoke to council wanting a chance to defend himself regarding neighbors complaining about a building that he owns for storage.

Hess explained that he has been making improvements to the property; however he has had garbage bags strewn on the property with a note saying “we don’t need your kind.” Hess mentioned that he had the police search his premises because he has nothing to hide.

It was announced that the last day for the Santa House for 2014 will be from 6 to 7 p.m. on Dec. 17.

The Legislative Committee set a meeting for 6 p.m. on Dec. 22 prior to the Crestline Village Council meeting that evening.
