BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Registration is officially underway for the upcoming fall semester at the Crawford Success Center, with classes scheduled to begin on August 17.
The community-focused higher education facility offers a hybrid format of face-to-face and online general education courses, including English, mathematics, and college preparatory training. Designed as an accessible alternative to traditional college campuses, the center features a streamlined 15-minute application process with automatic acceptance. Officials note that the institution’s robust financial aid and scholarship pipelines allow 75 percent of its students to graduate entirely debt-free.
The strategic push for local enrollment aligns with a leadership transition at the institutional level. Amber Wertman has stepped into her new role as the executive director of the North Central State College Foundation. Wertman, widely known for her extensive tenure with the local United Way, succeeded in her position just as the foundation launches its annual Emerald Club direct-giving campaign.
The foundation continues to expand localized workforce partnerships, recently coordinating specialized staff training and continuing education tracks with regional businesses like Baker’s Pizza and Old 30 BBQ. Looking ahead to the spring, the foundation is also planning its annual “Scholarships for Success” auction event, which raised more than $35,000 last year to cover tuition gaps and book costs for Crawford County students.
The Crawford Success Center is located at 130 North Walnut Street in Bucyrus, directly across from the county courthouse.
