BUCYRUS―A standoff between law enforcement and a Bucyrus man lasted three hours Monday evening.
Bucyrus Police Officers were called to 819 Woodale Ave., in Bucyrus shortly before 5 p.m. to investigate an attempted sexual assault. The person of interest had an active felony warrant and upon making contact at the residence, the individual refused to exit and another party at the residence became uncooperative.
Mutual aid was requested from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and a perimeter was established diverting traffic. In lieu of threats by the man to himself and others, the Crawford County Special Response Team with officers from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, Galion Police Department and Bucyrus Police Department assisted at the scene.
Attempts to negotiate with the individual continued by the Special Response Team and at 7:50 p.m., Jeremy Taylor Clark, 25, exited the residence without incident and surrendered. He was taken to Bucyrus Community Hospital for treatment of a rib injury he sustained from an altercation he was involved in prior to this complaint pertaining to his alleged behavior with other people.
Clark is being held at the Crawford County Justice Center for the active warrants and investigation of the attempted sexual assault allegation.
