BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)— The Wynford Board of Education held its July meeting Monday evening.

Greg White spoke during the meeting, stating that he had served each member of the board with public records requests. He also expressed that the board cannot have any rules that violate the Constitution.

Superintendent Forrest Trisler gave an update on the roofing project that is underway this summer. He stated that the project, which is focused on three sections of the building’s roof, is on track and is expected to be finished by the end of the month.

Trisler also addressed the tar fire that occurred earlier in the morning. He stated that the roofer on site was able to put out the fire with fire extinguishers before the fire department arrived. Trisler also thanked the Holmes Township Fire Department for its help with the matter.

The staining project occurring this summer is also on track. Nineteen of the deficient columns have already been fixed and replaced. Sandblasting is currently being done on the understructure, and once finished, it will be primed.

Superintendent Forrest Trisler also took the time to thank the board for the opportunity to serve as superintendent for the last four years.

“It really was an honor, and I appreciate you trusting me with the care of the district and the care of the district students,” said Trisler.

Trisler will serve through the rest of this month.

The board also approved the hiring of Steve Mohr as superintendent following the necessary updates to his licenses. Mohr previously served as Wynford superintendent from 2006 until December 2015.

“I can honestly tell you that I am every bit as excited today as I was when I was hired, and this is kind of a shocking number, 20 years ago, but I am really excited about the opportunities that this district has,” said Mohr.

In the meantime, Todd Martin will serve as interim superintendent beginning Aug. 1, pending Mohr’s submission and verification of credentials.

The board also approved a number of personnel changes in the district.

Bradley Powers has been hired as elementary principal on a one-year contract beginning Aug. 1.

The board also approved the hiring of Timothy Ehresman as athletic director and teacher on a three-year contract effective Aug. 1.

The board approved the resignation of Amy Taylor-Sheldon as elementary principal, effective at the end of the day July 31. She will now serve as a high school intervention specialist.

Andrew Amlin was approved as head high school football coach following the resignation of Clyde Skidmore.

The board also approved the resignation of Brent Konkle as middle school principal, effective July 31.

The board approved an agreement with Pioneer Career and Technology Center for the Career Coach Program for the 2026-27 school year. The program is at no cost to the district as a result of state funding that provides group coaching opportunities for students.

The board approved the fiscal year 2027 foundation agreement with the North Central Ohio Educational Service Center. After cutting $45,000 from ESC services, the board moved forward to ensure it would still receive vital services. With Mohr entering as superintendent, district officials will continue to review services being provided and investigate what can be shifted in-house.

The next meeting is scheduled for Aug. 10, 2026, at 5:30 p.m.
