The Crawford Park District is inviting the public to take part in several outdoor and educational programs later this month, including National Moth Week activities, stargazing and archery instruction.

The district will celebrate National Moth Week at 9 p.m. Saturday, July 25, at Sears Woods State Nature Preserve, 1486 Mount Zion Road. Participants will help document native moth species as park staff use lights and a sheet to attract moths for observation and identification. The annual citizen science event highlights the diversity and importance of moths in local ecosystems.

Also at 9 p.m. July 25, the Crawford Park Astronomy Club will host a night sky viewing program at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 State Route 598. Attendees will have the opportunity to observe summer celestial objects, including nebulae and galaxies. If weather conditions are unfavorable, the program will be moved indoors to the Nature Center.

An archery program is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, at Lowe-Volk Park. Participants will learn archery safety and basic shooting techniques before practicing on targets. All equipment will be provided. Sessions will begin at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Registration is required by calling the Crawford Park District at 419-683-9000.
