The Holmes Township Fire Department Pisted the following statement regarding this morning’s reported fire at the Wynford School campus:
“We responded Monday morning to a report of a fire on the roof of the rear of the original portion of Wynford High School. There turned out to be no fire on the roof. Fire did occur in a “tar pot.” Tar pots are used to heat tar for application to the roof’s surface.
Construction workers had contained the fire to the tar pot prior to our arrival, and no action on our part was needed. We are grateful for the quick action of the workers, and school employees. There was no damage to the tar pot, and roof work was able to continue.“
