BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—At the March 18, 2026, Crawford County Board of Health meeting, congratulations were expressed to forty-nine (49) local eateries, schools, retail stores and healthcare facilities as the 2025 food safety award winners were announced.
In the state of Ohio, the food licensing year runs from March 1 through the end of February of the following year. Crawford County Public Health (CCPH) initiated the annual Food Safety Award Program after the 2012 licensing year was complete with initially only 10 facilities being recognized with an award.
Zach Wolfe, Board of Health President, commented about the growing number of facilities receiving an award each year. “This is the largest number of facilities we have ever recognized with food safety awards. Our health inspectors show up unannounced for these inspections and it is not easy to win either award. This demonstrates our local facilities are truly committed to ensuring that the food they serve is prepared safely.”
The completion of the 2025 food licensing year marked the thirteenth year of recognizing local food operations for exceptional food safety practices. The following 49 local food facilities are recipients of either a Superior or Excellent Food Safety Award from Crawford County Public Health:
