GALION, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Avita Home Health & Hospice is seeking to reduce the isolation often felt after the loss of a spouse through its monthly “Companion Table” program, a community-focused support gathering held in Galion.
The program, which meets on the third Tuesday of each month, offers widows and widowers a relaxed environment to share a meal and build relationships with others navigating similar journeys of grief.
“Grief can feel very isolating, and having a place where people feel understood can make a real difference,” said a representative from Avita Home Health & Hospice. “The Companion Table is about community, comfort, and walking alongside others through loss.”
Organizers emphasize that the program is designed to move beyond traditional clinical support by fostering genuine social connection and peer understanding.
The meetings are held at 11 a.m. at 1220 N. Market St. in Galion. The program is free of charge and open to any community member who has experienced the loss of a spouse or partner.
Avita Home Health & Hospice provides a range of patient-centered services for those facing serious illness, including emotional support and skilled care. For more information regarding the Companion Table or other available services, the public may contact 419-468-7985.
