BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Crawford Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is kicking off its spring season with a flurry of conservation programs, including the annual tree and fish sales, a multi-city community cleanup, and the opening of summer camp registrations.

Crawford SWCD District Administrator Mike Hall announced that the annual tree sale is currently ongoing, with bare-root stock seedlings available for pickup in Bucyrus on April 23 and 24. Concurrently, the district is accepting orders for its fish sale—featuring fingerlings like bluegill, largemouth bass, and even koi for pond stocking—through April 17, with pickup scheduled for April 28.

Beyond sales, the district is calling for volunteers for a community cleanup on Saturday, May 9, from 10 to 11 a.m. The event will span four locations: Harmon Park and the Crawford County Fairgrounds in Bucyrus, Heisey Park in Galion, and the City Park in New Washington. “It’s just an hour, but we usually get a lot collected and picked up,” Hall said.

Registration also opened this week for the popular Conservation Day Camp on June 23 at Camp Michael and the “Farmer for a Day” camp on July 8 at Archews Dairy Farm. Officials warn that these spots traditionally fill within days. Interested participants can find order forms and registration links at CrawfordSWCD.org.
