COLUMBUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A $100,000 reward is being offered as authorities search for a driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run that claimed the life of a construction worker early Saturday morning on Interstate 70.

The Columbus Division of Police reported that at approximately 2 a.m. on Feb. 28, a suspect vehicle traveling westbound entered a marked construction zone on I-70 near State Route 315. The vehicle struck a power generator before hitting a worker on-site.

The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Jordan Thomas, an employee of Kokosing Construction. Thomas was working at the time of the crash; he was pronounced dead following the incident.

Investigators are searching for a maroon Toyota sedan with suspected front-end damage. Police are also seeking any information regarding the identity of the driver, who fled the scene immediately after the collision.

Kokosing Construction in partnership with Central Ohio Crime Stoppers, announced the $100,000 reward for any information that leads to the identification and arrest of the individual responsible.
