BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A routine traffic stop in Bucyrus on Sunday night led to multiple weapons charges after police discovered an AR-style pistol inside a vehicle occupied by two local men.
According to the Bucyrus Police Department, Officer Wireman initiated the traffic stop at approximately 10:16 p.m. on July 26 in the 400 block of North Sandusky Avenue. Police said the vehicle was being driven by 19-year-old Kamden Agee of Bucyrus, who was known to have a suspended driver’s license.
During the stop, Officer Wireman made contact with Agee and his passenger, 21-year-old William Blackert of Bucyrus. While speaking with the occupants, the officer observed an AR-style pistol positioned between the center console and the front passenger seat, placing it within reach of both individuals, according to police.
Investigators later determined that Agee is currently under indictment and free on bond in connection with a felony charge of tampering with evidence related to an October 2025 shooting investigation in Bucyrus.
Following the investigation, police charged Agee with Possessing Weapons While Under Disability and Improperly Handling Firearms in a Motor Vehicle.
Blackert was charged with Improperly Handling Firearms in a Motor Vehicle.
The case has been forwarded to the Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
