The Bucyrus Middle School Student Council will host a dance for middle school students Saturday, April 12. This year’s event will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Middle School gymnasium, and the admission for students is $4.00.

The theme for this year’s dance, which is selected by Student Council, is “It’s Electric” and will feature neon colors. The class with the most students wearing clothing or accessories that reflect the neon theme will be awarded spirit points.

“This is a fundraiser for our organization,” Middle School Student Council Advisor Erika Orians said. “It first pays for the DJ, and remaining monies are used to pay for inflatables and other fun activities for the end of year Spirit Point Party for the winning grade level.”

The first 200 students who attend the dance will receive a glow stick. The event will also feature a photo booth, where Orians will be taking pictures of students throughout the dance.

“We have a Photo Booth committee that is making the backdrop and other decorations,” Orians said. “Students who buy a photo for $1.00 will receive a printed and digital copy.”

Cory Thomas of TC Sounds will be the DJ for the evening. A list of students eligible for the dance is available on the bulletin board outside the middle school office.

“Our Student Council has worked hard to put together a great event for our middle school students,” Associate Principal John Massara said. “We hope students will attend this fun, safe event Saturday night.”
