BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—For more than 20 years, New Day Ministries Outreach has served as a vital support system for families across Bucyrus and Crawford County. Now, the organization that provides food, clothing, and household essentials to those in need is facing a crisis that threatens its ability to keep its doors open.
The ministry, located at 133 North Sandusky Avenue, is reporting that its facility is in dire need of a total roof replacement. Severe leaks have begun to compromise the structure, putting the center’s inventory of donated clothing, household goods, and critical food supplies at immediate risk of water damage.
The need for the center’s services has never been higher.
According to staff, demand for emergency food assistance has surged by more than 37% in recent months, pushing the facility to its operational limits. The deteriorating roof now poses a significant threat to the safety of the volunteers and the neighbors they serve.
“To keep our doors open and ensure our volunteers can continue to serve our neighbors in a safe, dry environment, we must replace the roof as soon as possible,” the staff said in a statement.
The cost for the emergency repairs is estimated at over $80,000. As a non-profit organization that relies entirely on the generosity of the community, New Day Ministries is calling on local residents and businesses to help bridge the funding gap.
The organization is seeking tax-deductible contributions to its roof replacement fund. Every dollar raised will go directly toward the materials and labor required to secure the building.
