Five defendants were arraigned on various charges Monday morning in Crawford County Common Pleas Court. Judge Sean Leuthold took pleas via video arraignment from the Crawford County Justice Center.

David L. Chatman, 31, of Galion pleaded guilty to one charge of rape, a first-degree felony. The alleged victim is six years old. If convicted, Chatman faces a potential life sentence without parole.

Leuthold entered a not guilty plea on behalf of Chatman. He appointed attorney Andrew Motter to represent Chatman and set bail at one million dollars.

Derek B. Snyder, 31, of Galion received a 20-count indictment. He is charged with receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony punishable with up to 12 months in prison; one count of resisting arrest, a fourth-degree felony punishable with up to 18 months in prison; obstructing official business, a second-degree misdemeanor punishable with up to 120 days in jail; six counts of theft, each fifth-degree felonies and each punishable with up to 12 months in prison; two counts of theft, each third-degree felonies punishable with up to 36 months in prison; two counts of possession of drugs, each fifth-degree felonies punishable by up to 12 months in prison; two counts of having weapons under disability, a third-degree felony each punishable by up to 36 months in prison; one count of theft a first-degree misdemeanor punishable with up to 120 days in jail; and four counts of criminal trespass, a fourth-degree misdemeanor punishable with up to 90 days in jail.

Leuthold entered a not guilty plea on Snyder’s behalf and appointed attorney Sebastian Berger to represent him. Bond was set at $200,000.

Matthew Lambert, 38, of Nevada was indicted on one count of tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony punishable with up to 36 months in prison, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor punishable with up to 90 days in jail. Leuthold entered a not guilty plea on Lambert’s behalf and set bond at $25,000. Attorney Tani Eyer was appointed to represent Lambert.

Sara Gonzalez, 29, of Shelby was indicted on one count breaking and entering a fifth-degree felony punishable by up to 12 months in prison. Leuthold entered a not guilty plea on her behalf and appointed attorney Tani Eyer to represent her. Bond was set at $25,000.

Shanne Lucas, 26, of Crestline was indicted on one count of possession of meth, a fifth-degree felony punishable by up to 12 months in prison and one count of drug paraphernalia a fourth-degree misdemeanor punishable by up to 30 days in jail. Bond was set at $50,000. Attorney Geoff Stoll was appointed to represent Lucas.
