UPDATE: The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office reduced the snow emergency to a Level 1 around noon Wednesday.
In the words of a dispatcher at the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office this morning: “We’re not done yet.”
It appears as though the weatherman was right on the money as Crawford County was already under four inches of new snowfall as of 4 a.m. with another 2 to 3 inches expected by this evening. A winter storm warning remains in effect until 5 p.m. today and a Level 2 Snow Advisory was declared in Crawford County as of 11 p.m. Tuesday.
The dispatcher at the Sheriff’s Office said no roads in the county had been reported closed as of this morning but warned that many roads were heavily drifted and travel was treacherous at best. Neither Bucyrus nor Galion police reported any power outages or problems in their communities with crews out plowing snow. The snow parking ban in Galion is still in effect.
Some schools in North Central and North West Ohio began cancelling classes for Wednesday on Tuesday evening.
