The Wynford Lady Royals won the first battle of Bucyrus last night with a 52-41 win over Bucyrus.
With the game tied at 14, Wynford went on an 11-5 run at the end of the first half to lead by six at intermission. The Lady Royals led by 15 midway through the third period before Bucyrus went on a 19-6 run to trail by 2. Wynford then scored the next nine points to win by the 11-point margin.
Wynford made seven 3-pointers in the game. Meghan Harrer had four on her way to a game high 18 points, Brenna Quinn finished with 12 points and Ellie Richmond added 10. Bucyrus scoring was led by Kelci Simms with 13.
Wynford won the JV game 50-37. Sydney Alspach and Gretchen Harris each had 12 for Wynford. Bucyrus scoring was led by Torie Tanner with 13 and Ashton Hawkins with 10 points.
