While instruments of farm machinery were being auctioned off outside of Wynford, inside stacks of flapjacks were being served up to benefit the Junior Fair Board.

Coinciding with the Crawford County Antique Farm Machinery Association’s annual consignment auction, members of both the Crawford County Antique Farm Machinery Association and Junior Fair Board held a pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. by cost of donation with proceeds benefitting fair board activities. Junior Fair Board Vice President Lynae Rausch explained where proceeds from the pancake breakfast would go.

“For the Junior Fair, our proceeds mostly go to getting supplies for the fair along with redoing some of the things that need a little help,” Rausch said. “Since we repainted the chicken barn last year, we are looking to maintenance some other barns, maybe fix some of the benches that are a little wobbly, just trying to better our fair, and just fund little areas that we can improve.”

Crawford County Antique Farm Machinery Association member Roger Hoss reflected on the first pancake breakfast.

“We held the first pancake dinner because one of the new barns at the fairgrounds needed gates that were to cost $6,000. So, we held this as a fundraiser, and then left the Junior Fair step in,” Hoss said.

Looking towards their annual show in June, the Crawford County Antique Farm Machinery Association were also raffling off a peddle tractor, with the winner to be announced at the annual antique farm machinery show.
