GALION, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Crawford County Council on Aging is encouraging area seniors to prepare for a busy October with several festive and informative events, according to Activities Coordinator Michelle Tuttle.

The Council, which serves individuals 55 and older for activities, has announced key dates for its upcoming programming and services. On Oct. 16, the Council will host an Alzheimer’s presentation on healthy living from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a karaoke and hot dog bar event from 1 to 3 p.m.

Bingo remains a popular draw, with a sponsored game planned for the Crestline VFW post 2920 on Oct. 21 at 1 p.m. The Council on Aging will also hold its annual Halloween party and bingo on Oct. 30 at 1 p.m., featuring treats and a costume contest. All bingo events are free, but sign-ups are required.

Tuttle also emphasized the start of reservations for the Council’s free annual drive-through Thanksgiving meal, which is scheduled for Nov. 20 from 1 to 2 p.m. Sign-up for the meal begins Oct. 20 and closes at noon on Oct. 31. Reservations are mandatory to receive a ticket for the meal.

In addition to activities, the Council provides crucial services, including daily weekday congregate meals, Meals on Wheels, transportation, and resource referrals for those 60 and older.

Membership is available for $30 per year, offering discounts and early sign-up benefits. Seniors interested in activities, membership, or meal reservations can call the Council on Aging at 419-562-3050 or visit their website, crawfordcountyaging.com.
